Outrageous Faith
Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen (Hebrews 11:1, CSB).
Imagine yourself as Abraham for a moment. First, your name would actually be Abram (God will be changing it later).
You have a good life. You’re content. But then, all of a sudden, God shows up. And He doesn’t just tell you He loves you; He calls you to pack up your things, gather your entire household, and move. The only thing is…you don’t know where.
Pretty crazy, right? But that’s exactly what Abraham did. The journey made no sense. Leaving everything he had — the safe and familiar — for the unknown wasn’t rational or explainable. But exercising faith requires the unknown, along with the unexpected, unpredictable, and outrageous.
Faith is required when you’re in doubt, when you’re in want, and when things are difficult and unclear. And faith will put you right where God wants you!
It happened to Abraham. His obedience positioned him and his descendants to receive every promise God made to him. And I know the same will happen for you as you respond to God with outrageous faith.
