Living with an Eternal Perspective

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God (Colossians 3:1, NIV).

Keeping an eternal perspective is ultimately the only thing that can give us purpose in a world that seems to be more concerned with what to worry about or fear. After all, as followers of Jesus, we’re not without hope but can remain anchored to it. We can stand on a firm foundation of truth in the One who won’t fail us or forsake us.

So let’s not waste time being distracted, disillusioned, or disconnected. Let’s live on mission for Jesus. As His followers,

  • We don’t need to freak out; we can step into the world.
  • We don’t need to pull back in fear; we can move forward in faith.
  • We don’t need to bow down to the world; we can stand up in Christ.
  • We don’t need to wait for “one day when”; we can go “this day now.”
  • We don’t need to pursue worldly things, accolades, achievements, or successes; we can advance the Kingdom and pursue Christ alone!
