When You're Overwhelmed...

Series: Over Overwhelmed   

There is one moment in the book of Mark where we see Jesus being overwhelmed. This took place shortly before the day of His crucifixion: “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death,” he said to them. “Stay here and keep watch.” Going a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him (Mark 14:34–35).

We can learn so much from this passage, but what stands out most to me is that when Jesus was overwhelmed, He didn’t run around the city complaining or filling up His schedule with more so He wouldn’t have to think about what was coming. Instead, Jesus fell to His knees and prayed.

I pray that, in the seasons when you are overwhelmed, before you do anything else, you would fall to your knees. God is with you, He is in control, and He will walk you through even the toughest situations!
