How to Bridge the Gap Between What You Believe and What You See
I wonder what your response is when there is a gap between what you believe and what you see. Before Jesus left the earth, he told his disciples that they would experience times of pain and heartache in life. At the same time, he encouraged them to hold onto hope during those times. Will you hold onto hope that God is good and God does good even when nothing in your life or in the world seems good? This episode will empower you to get honest with God about your questions and hold onto faith in him to bridge the gap between what you believe and what you see.
Cry Out to God with Your Questions
Why is it that I try to do everything right in honoring God—but I’m not seeing any reward—while those who turn away from the ways of God so often appear to prosper? Anyone ever been there? You can lose hope in those moments—or you can trust God. Christians may be reluctant to admit they question why God allows injustice and pain in the world. Having tough questions, however, doesn’t mean that we lack faith.
When you are confused or in pain, the Lord asks you to cry out to him. We may never fully understand everything, but we can allow him to embrace us, comfort us, and sustain us through every question and doubt we have.
