“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:19-20). When you look at the Gospels, it is easy to see that Jesus cares deeply for people who don’t know Him. He came to save them, to show them the way to the Father. As believers in Jesus, we should carry the same compassion and burden for the lost. Today, pray for the people in your life who don’t know Him as Savior. Ask for wisdom and grace to share the Gospel, to make disciples, to fulfill your part in the Great Commission. The Lord will be with you as you make His name known!

The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit (Proverbs 18:21). Did you know that your words carry weight? Scripture says that the power of life and death resides within our tongues. What an amazing statement! Remember to steward your words wisely today. Speak life over the people who come into contact with you. What you say can build someone up or can bring them down. Your words have power!

The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake (Psalm 23:1-3). Peace is a rare commodity in our day and age. In a chaotic world filled with people searching for safety, we, as believers, have the missing answer! Through Christ, we can have peace in the face of every anxiety. We have the promise that He is our Shepherd, that He is our refuge. Being a follower of Jesus doesn’t guarantee you won’t have trials. In fact, oftentimes in Scripture, we see that many people who loved Jesus faced and overcame immense difficulties. But we do have the promise of peace in anxious circumstances and stability in shaky times. Today, take “time for you.” Get alone with God. Hear Him speak peace over your life. Let your Good Shepherd lead you into rest and safety. From that place, you will be able to offer peace to others living in this frantic, broken world.

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).

And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work (2 Corinthians 9:8). Did you know that God has given you everything you need to succeed in life? If you have faced any kind of failure, know that failure is not final. Scripture promises that we have all we need to abound in every good work. The word “abound” means to “occur or exist in great quantities or numbers.” In other words, not only have you been given what you need to succeed, but you are destined to impact this world for the glory of God. Start today fresh. Look at your life through this lens. Any past failure cannot determine your future. Lasting success, abundant good works belong to you in Jesus’ name.

For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you ... so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light (Colossians 1:9-12, emphasis added). In our world, having the right qualifications for a position is important. When a company searches to hire new employees, they are looking for certain qualifications. Likewise, when a university considers a potential student, a person must meet specific requirements in order to be accepted. But what if you feel God has called you to something that you aren’t “qualified” for? I know that has happened in my personal experience. I didn’t feel qualified to start a global anti-trafficking organization, for example, yet I felt God had called me to the work. If you find yourself in a similar place, I’ve got some encouraging news for you. The Lord has already qualified you for work in His Kingdom. You get to work for the King no matter your social status, education level, pedigree or past experiences. God has qualified you, and that’s all that matters. So don’t discount your abilities. Ask the Lord to use what you have to offer Him. He will bring the increase and cause you to be effective for His purposes in your generation.

Just like Sarah believed God would be faithful to fulfill His promise to her, so we should believe God will be faithful to keep His word to us. Today, remember that God is able to do what He said He would do.

“For no word from God will ever fail” (Luke 1:37). When God speaks the word, nothing is impossible! With our God … • There is no problem that He cannot solve. • There is no promise too hard for Him to fulfill. • There is no prayer too big for Him to answer. • There is no disease He cannot heal. • There is no heart He cannot mend. • There is no relationship He cannot restore. • There is not one person He cannot save. • There is no past He cannot redeem. • There is no enemy He cannot defeat. • There is no mountain He cannot move. Remember today that our God is able!
