Put on Christ!

Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh (Romans 13:14). There’s a certain way that we as God’s people are called to carry ourselves. Just as we wake up in the morning to get ready for the day, we are to “wake up” spiritually and put on Christ! What is this “spiritual clothing”? Colossians 3:12-13 shows us it is living a life of compassion, speaking with kindness and interacting with others in humility, gentleness and patience. Today, practice putting on Christ; forgive others, cover the weaknesses of those around you, resist your flesh. You might be surprised at how your heart comes alive as you live the life God has called you to live!

God's Spirit Lives Inside of You

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline (2 Timothy 1:7). When God’s Spirit lives inside of you, you can do great things! You can overcome fear and self-doubt. So, if you feel like you don’t have what it takes, I have good news for you − HE DOES! And He has given you His Spirit. Let Him be the source of your strength today!

Let Your Gift Bring Him Glory

There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work (1 Corinthians 12:4-6). Every person has been created uniquely by God. We’ve been given identity, purpose and a set of gifts and talents to help us fulfill our purpose! The gifts God has given you are not only for your own benefit. They’re also for the benefit of others! So, today, use your gifts for His glory and let what He’s placed inside of you shine through you!

You Are a Leader

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity (1 Timothy 4:12). Today, know that you are a leader! The Lord has given you influence for His purposes. Ask Him to give you wisdom as you lead. No matter your age or position, He has placed you where you are to set an example. He will make you effective!

You Can Hear the Shepherd's Voice

“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand” (John 10:27-28). What an awesome truth that no one can snatch us from the hands of God! You are totally secure in His loving embrace. Just as a shepherd would care for His sheep, so your God cares for you. He watches over you and leads you with tenderness. Today, listen for the Shepherd’s voice. He promises that we can hear Him, and He wants to lead you into your destiny!

He Has Set You Free

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17). You were made to experience freedom. Scripture tells us that wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And His Spirit lives deep down on the inside of every believer! Not only can you experience freedom in your circumstances, but you can also experience freedom in the deepest parts of your heart, mind and soul. We were not made to be bound by shame, fear, guilt or condemnation. His Spirit inside of us is stronger than any of those things. He has set us free! Today, remember that you can walk in this kind of freedom! Ask for His freedom to manifest in every part of your life − from the inside out!

Follow Jesus and Impact the World

“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people” (Matthew 4:19). There’s one thing I know for sure − when you spend time with Jesus, you will want to reach people with His love. Jesus’ heart overflows for the lost in the world. And as you follow after Him, He will send you out to make an impact on others! Jesus told His disciples this very truth – that if they would follow Him, He would make them fishers of men. And today, He gives you that same call!

Grace Will Carry You

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me − watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly” (Matthew 11:28-30, MSG).

He Will Fill You Up

"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you" (Luke 6:38). I love that we can’t out-give God! When you give Him your all − your heart, your mind, your soul, your strength − when you sow your finances into the Kingdom, when you pour out your time in service to the body of Christ, when you show love to the lost, God promises that He will fill you back up. When you give, it will be given back to you. Isn’t that awesome? We can give freely because we can trust God to fill us again! So today ask the Lord how He would have you give. As you obey Him, you won’t be disappointed − guaranteed!

Live by Faith

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him (Hebrews 11:6). I want to completely fulfill the purpose God has for me, and I know that you do too! For that to happen, living by faith is essential. So, what does it mean to live by faith? It means believing God will do what He says He will do! And in Hebrews 11, we’re given incredible examples of people who lived by faith … • Noah built an ark. • Abraham left his home to find the land of his inheritance. • Sarah bore children at an old age. • Moses led a nation out of slavery. • The Israelites shouted, and the walls of Jericho came down. • And many others conquered kingdoms, administered justice, gained what was promised and shut the mouths of lions! We have been given their example so that we can learn what it looks like to live by faith. So today, believe that He who promised is faithful and follow hard after Him!
